Banquet of Consequences.* Food and Consumption in the Era of Climate Change is a group exhibition produced by Jonas Kleerup & Lina Aastrup and deals with the subject of food waste through contemporary art. ”Each year, an estimated one third of all food produced – equivalent to 1.3 billion tonnes worth around $1 trillion – ends up rotting in the bins of consumers and retailers, or spoiling due to poor transportation and harvesting practices.”** With this project we touch upon some of the complex relations between food, health, politics, environment and culture with the ambition to raise awareness and inspire shifts in consumer behaviour. The exhibition in central Stockholm will be open to the public for three days with a press preview and an opening reception on the first night.*** The exhibition is sponsored by Electrolux.
