“Fat” is an art exhibition about grease and everything people flush down in the toilet and kitchen sink.
Flushing or throwing away objects that have affective value is an easy way to get rid of difficult memories or stress related to an event that had occurred. But the memory often comes back in a different guise, like a broken ID card or a wet teddy bear at the sanitation facility. In addition to clogging drains and moving, the grease has an art historical value in the works of Joseph Beuys, among others.
