The project is a collaboration between Bigert & Bergström and Futurniture, aiming to create a unique visitor attraction in Skellefteå with global potential. This visionary Climate Action Park will combine art, architecture, design, industry, climate research, and technology to address climate change and urban transformation. By connecting local industrial history with a sustainable future, the park will showcase Skellefteå’s green industries while promoting climate adaptation and social integration.

The park will be Europe’s first of its kind, offering visitors insights into innovative technologies and artistic representations of climate challenges. The park envisioned to inspire, engage, and include diverse groups, from local residents to newcomers, fostering a sense of community and sustainability, and to transform the Scharin industrial area into this forward-thinking and unique living environment for Skellefteå’s future.

Additionally, in 2026, Skellefteå will host Society Expo (SE26), a global event focused on sustainable solutions and social inclusion, creating opportunities for collaboration and innovation on an international scale.
