Geniezeit, 2016

Outside the Department of Physics at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Bigert & Bergström have deployed a new sculptural commission. Geniezeit is a large stainless steel funhouse mirror in the shape of an apple. The bites taken out of the apple create high polished reflective impressions in which the image of the visitor to the university is mirrored and twisted.

Bigert & Bergström present an installation based on their film The Weather War, for the first time showcasing many of the sculptures and machines appearing in the film. Inspired by speculative science, the exhibition continues the artists' research into geo-engineering and weather control.
